It would be a huge challenge to figure out your life in tiny bits and pieces. It would take a lot of strength to remain calm and try to get to know the woman your body is of and her life. It would test the person you are on the inside and how well you use your brain to execute with others to find the information you need to learn everything about your exterior self.

This is not a position anyone would want to be in having her mind and soul in another person who is unknown. It would make your life very sad and disappointing to be without those you love.

She’s made quite a name for herself overseas and here are a few of the other films we think she’ll be known for someday…
The Father and the Foreigner – Shot entirely in Italian this thriller was released in 2010 to little fanfare. Rappoport played Lisa, the embattled daughter, and she did a great job winning over our hearts.
The Rider Named Death – This Russian thriller came out all the way back in 1999 but a young Rappoport played a convincing spy-turned-confidant. There are Russian mobsters, casino ties and a lot of shooting, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Anna Karenina – In her first starring role Rappoport took it all the way as she played Maria in the classic Karenina story. As far as period films go this one’s not quite a home run but Kseniya’s performance brings it back into the respectable category.

Irena tries to gain the trust of the affluent family by becoming a maid and nanny to their young daughter and thus begins her quest to find out about the family. At times dark like a mysterious puzzle, it has been compared to Hitchcock. Set in a city that is not named, it is a disquieting film at times, with flashbacks and dreams that stay in your head. Irina is a woman with a past, and little by little it comes into view. Her memories are sweet and terrible and the plot unravels it all.

One opinion that was given on Rotton Tomatoes is quite negative:
Mick LaSalle, of the San Francisco Chronicle says,”The whole movie hangs on the gradual unraveling of the central mystery and is made with the expectation that the audience is fascinated and hanging on every tidbit. But Tornatore overplays his hand.”

However, unlike “Cinema Paradiso’s” focus on love and beauty, “The Unkown Woman” is a thriller of intellect, emotion, and relentless tension.

The movie follows a character named Irene who is investigating a family. She does whatever is needed to become part of the family and become a trusted character in their eyes. The movie is cut with flashbacks to Irena’s past revealing more and more about the experiences that led Irena to be the way she is today.

To reveal more would be spoiling the roller-coaster of a movie this film takes you on. It has already become a new classic that more and more critics are talking about. It is not a film for the light of heart or children as rape is a constant focus of certain scenes.

It is a film to be experienced. It is recommended highly for anyone who loves intellectual thrillers, or anyone who has enjoyed the director’s previous work. It is a calculated movie designed to give you the most emotional response that it possible can. It exceeds all expectations and will long be considered a classic film.

The question is in line with a 2006 film that has been getting more and more popularity as cinema fans are looking to build a visual library of movies seen. Foreign film fans will not be the only ones to quickly appreciate the film for its binding story and breath taking visuals, as any causal movie fan will enjoy the film as well.

Those unfamiliar with this film will have to remind themselves of the 1988 cult hit “Cinema Paradiso”, which took audiences world wide by storm. The director, Giuseppe Tornatore, once again blends classic film making with modernism, art, and so much more, but some critics and fans think it is too much. The film does seem to drag in the second and third transitional act, but picks up swiftly in the final acts.

Who Is The Unknown Woman Really? That is the question that many people want to know before jumping into this foreign film, but revealing the Hitchcock like twist would be disingenuous. The thrilling film really hinges carefully on that question, and while some might get lost in the landscape of visualization, savvy film viewers will keep that in mind, especially when the reveal comes forward in an effective and poignant sequence that really will get comparisons to thrillers of old.
